Help my sister’s dog battle liver cancer
Sputnik, my little sister’s dog, has liver cancer. She’s spent $10,000 so far and the chemo is continuing, so too are the bills. She could use a little help! Caitee is making special treats for special donors!
Milka loves kids and they love him! He met some kids in Port Moody last night and I got him to howl for them. Then they tried (successfully!) making his howl on their own. Awesome.

Milka’s first time snowshoeing. We went to Mount Seymour, which is only about a 35 minute drive from my place. He had the best seat in the house! I let him out for a little walk but he took a lower path and ended up on a frozen lake! We had to coach him to come up to the trail.

We went, well I tried, to go to the park a few weeks ago. We walked to it, I let Milka off leash, and he stayed in the same spot. It does seem that he prefers to walk around on leash rather than run around in a big open space. So I put the leash back on him and walked AROUND the park and the dogs. And that’s when we met Patricia and Roque.
Patricia is from Saskatchewan and is here receiving medical treatment. Patricia must have magic massage fingers because Milka really liked her! He sat on her lap for more than half an hour, until we had to go home for dinner.

By the way, Milka and I haven’t been volunteering at the old folks home in more than a year. This visit reminded me a bit of that. Not sure that we’ll return to the same home but maybe I should look into some other options…
Milka is fighting the heat, and being sleepy.
Sometimes when I give Milka his food, he runs his nose along the floor toward his food several times. No idea why. Does your dog do this? Any idea why dogs do this?

Milka really doesn’t like toys. It’s too bad but it’s true. So I gave a friend, Kendra, one of Milka’s toys to give to her dog, Bentley, an Australian shepherd cross. Success! Bentley likes it so much that he takes it to bed with him sometimes. So cute.
